Do You Own a Business?

Did you know that there is a difference between being a person that owns a business and a business owner?

Each runs a business. Each makes decisions. Each looks for sales and profits.

THE REAL DIFFERENCE IS IN HOW YOU THINK!

Working with several clients, I have realized that each is in a different place in their development and growth of their business. Some have been at it for just a couple of years while others have been at it for 5, 7 or 10 years. But it isn't the number of years that makes a difference. It is in how that person thinks about their business.

  1. Are they working IN the business or ON the business?
  2. Are they thinking like a leader or as a worker?
  3. Do they concentrate on activities that other people should be doing instead of figuring out the next steps in growth?
  4. Are they thinking about today or about tomorrow?
  5. Are they thinking about replacing sales or about replacing themselves?
  6. Are they thinking about saving a penny or about being more productive?
  7. Are they actually taking time to think and reflect?
  8. Are they letting the business run them or are they running the business?

Big change only happens you think like a business owner.
